Update From the Region

The COVID-19 global pandemic has affected us all. The region and the wineries of Cariñena have been working diligently and taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of their workers, while continuing to care for the vineyards and wines throughout this unsettling time. The wineries are committed to keeping all employees working and receiving their salaries during the stay-at-home order. It is critical that some employees continue to work at the wineries. Shift work schedules have been put in place to ensure employees can complete their work tasks while following social distancing guidelines. Additionally, the wineries are working with the government to offer industrial alcohol for hand sanitizer as needed.

Cariñena goes digital

For the first time ever, Cariñena hosted their inaugural virtual happy hour to keep spirits and glasses high during the international stay at home orders. This very special happy hour was co-hosted by Rick Fisher, the Spanish Education Director for the Wine Scholar Guild, and wine scholar Kathleen Thomas. Attendees got an in-depth look at the region, the wines, and wineries without having to leave the comfort of their own home. Want to see some highlights? Click here
